Chiropractors and Chiropractic Care

Is a Chiropractor a Doctor?

Chiropractors hold a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree and are licensed in California by the Board of Chiropractic Examiners. They are not medical doctors (MDs), and they diagnose and treat problems of the spine, joints and muscles without drugs or surgery.

Can a Chiropractor Prescribe Medication?

No. In California, a chiropractic license does not authorize the use of drugs or medicines (California Code of Regulations, Title 16, Section 302). If medication may be part of the answer for your pain, Dr. Park will point you to your physician.

Do You Treat Auto Accident Injuries?

Yes. Dr. Park evaluates and treats neck and back injuries after car accidents, including whiplash and other soft-tissue injuries. Symptoms can appear hours or days after a collision, so an evaluation is worth scheduling even if you felt fine at first. In-motion X-ray may be used when it is clinically indicated. Our auto accident injury care page explains what to expect.
